On 10th of December Barleti Institute for Research and Development in the framework of Reehub Plus Project organized the "Smart City Open Innovation" FORUM. This event was held at Universiteti Barleti from 9.00 to 17.30 and supported by all the project partners Ministria e Infrastrukturës dhe Energjisë DITNE - Distretto Tecnologico Nazionale sull'Energia Comune di Agnone University of Montenegro Faculty of Architecture.
Smart City Open Innovation Forum had a great participation from young professionals, representatives from local government, SME's, sectoral agencies, researchers, etc.
The forum combined the university, EU projects sector, and the government to discuss about the chance for better implementation of their contribution to #SmartCity initiatives.
The presentations in this event were related to the initiatives from three main sectors.
In the first panel presented their initiatives representatives from Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy / Ministria e Infrastrukturës dhe Energjisë, Mr.Ardian Islami Director/Directorate of Conception and Feasibility for Industry and Energy Projects and Mrs.Eranda Shalsi. From Municipality of Tirana/ Bashkia Tirane, Mr.Genc Kojdheli, General Director of Integration, Strategic Planning and Economic Development held a presentation regarding the “Opportunities and challenges of Local Government in implementing Energy Efficiency in a Smart City”. A special guest at the first panel was the Mayor of Comune di Agnone Mr.Daniele Saia.
The second panel was composed of representatives from EU project implementation. The panelists were Mrs.Aurora Maria Lossaco / Project Officer from Joint Secretariat, Mr. Mario Martelli Engineer / EU project consultant, Mr. Angello Colucci - ECCP Responsible Person/ Reehub Plus Project Manager (DiTNE) - from DITNE - Distretto Tecnologico Nazionale sull'Energia, Mr.Rodon Miraj
Coordinator of Open Regional Fund for South East Europe / GIZ Albania, Mrs. Denisa Delija - Expert in Energy Efficiency investments
and Mr. Andrea Di Girolamo Consultant of @Comune di Agnone.
The third panel, the academy panel, was organized both physically and online. In this panel was invited a special guest Professor Ph.D Moayad Aloqaily @icnetlab Qatar University and he made his presentation for Application of Blockchain in Future Energy Systems - Prof. Moayad Aloqaily His presentation was followed by Ph.D. Sandra Monteiro from Minho University, Portugal that presented “Strategies for having more sustainable buildings and cities”, Professor Arch. Blerta Vula from UBT - Higher Education Institution that presented “Is Sustainability enough for a citizens well-being", Ph.D.Etleva Dobjani from Universiteti Barleti presented “Achieving near Zero Energy Building in Albania” and Ph.D.@Saimir Shtylla from Universiteti Barleti presented his topic “ An Approach for the Retrofit of a Public-School Building”. #energyefficiency #smartcity #reehubplusproject, #reehubproject Reehub Interreg Ipa
